Joe worked at Mt. Pleasant Elementary School for four years while serving as Children’s Minister at Mt. Pleasant Baptist also. During this time he grew very close to the children of that community and recognized his gift of working with children. Very soon Joe became “ Mr. Joe “ and always had little friends following him around. After a few years Joe stepped down from his position at the church to take on another full time job as well as grow his music ministry. After two years, and meeting his beautiful sweetheart, Joe has launched an all new ministry based on His and Kelsey’s love for Children. As he struggled to name this new ministry Joy Explosion soon came about. Joy Explosion is a Children’s based worship service with music, puppets, Bible Study, and excitement!! The purpose of this ministry is to reach out to Children on their level and provide them a worship service that they can relate to. The slogan for Joy Explosion is “ Real Worship …. Kid’s Way …”  Kelsey & Joe have such a great love for children and ministry. It’s their desire to see people draw closer to the Lord. Joy Explosion is held monthly at MPBC located at 3000 Pitzer Rd in Roanoke, Virginia.  Dates and times are listed on Joe’s web site under appearances. This ministry team also travels going out to different churches and doing weekend Children’s services.

Concerts as of 2008

 Because of the cost of traveling and rising fuel cost we are no longer able to go and do specials at churches, parties, or other events with out a minimum. For events such as Fairs, Parties, Reunions, Etc. there is a minimum fee of  $175.00 If you are a church and would like me for a special of 3 - 4 songs only there is a minimum traveling expense of  $150.00 This helps me meet the needs of my ministry while traveling and carrying the much needed equipment that is carried.  Here is our policy concerning concerts: Joe Overfelt Ministries now works based off contracts for all concerts. This comes after talking to my ministry team based of friends, family and local pastors. We believe it is everyones best intrest to secure the dates and times through a contract along with a directions, a financial agreement and details of the concert. Joe Overfelt Ministries does not take its ministy or the Gospel of Jesus lightly and strives to do its very best to Glorify Chirst in all it does. Please call for additonal information as to how this works. Due to the amount of sound equiptment that we carry, fuel,  and the staff that I need to operate on a week to week basis we ask for the following:

Roanoke - 25 miles out    $150.00  Plus a Love Offering

26 Miles - 50 Miles out     $ 200.00  Plus a Love Offering

51 Miles - 100 Miles out   $ 250.00 Plus a Love Offering

101 Miles - 200 Miles out $ 350.00 Plus a Love Offering

Anything over 200 miles PLEASE CALL .

We do wave the upfront cost if you are within the Roanoke - 50 mile area and you agree to advertise in the local paper and place concert flyers out provided by Joe Overfelt Ministries.
