In October of 2006 it was an extreme joy and pleasure for Hall’s UMC to welcome the ministry of Joe Overfelt. It is very refreshing to see a young man like Joe to be so passionate about building God’s kingdom and so willing to share his gifts. It was a truly enjoyable day in the life of our church and we can’t wait to have him back. He is a talented singer and a wonderful story teller. Pastor Tim Gearheart Hall’s United Methodist Church ___________________________________________________________ Even though the forecast for ice and snow caused our February meeting to be postponed a week it did not affect the celebration of Valentines day. Because of the schedule change our planned program was cancelled but pastor Jake arranged a wonderful substitute program for us. Joe Overfelt presented a very professional and inspirational program of music that had many of us singing along as well as sharing a few tears. Thanks Joe for comming on such a short notice and addding to our celebration you can bet that we will call you back very soon!! Mabel Anderson The Gleaners - North Roanoke Baptist Church ___________________________________________________________ After three years I finally decided to go to North Roanoke Baptist Church to see this production called Judgement House. When we arrived, with the kids from our youth, we had to wait in a long long line to get in. As we stood outside we heard some of the most Angelic music we've ever heard and as we got about half way up the line I realized that it wasn't a tape or CD playing but that it was LIVE and this guy was getting down with it!! This guy's voice was like an angels and I suppose this is what Heavens going to sound like. I think his trailer said Overfelt on the side of it.... What a voice Joe, what a voice! This was truly some of the best music we've ever heard!!! Ken and Penny Reyonlds Cave Spring Baptist Church ________________________________________________ Joe Overfelt has been a tremendous asset to our church family. Joe has served as Children’s Minister and displayed a love for children that is consistent with the command to “let the children come to me”. Joe also led our early morning worship service playing and leading contemporary worship music, southern gospel and traditional hymns. Joe has also displayed an unselfish willingness to help in any area of ministry that would help us be more effective.
On two different occasions over the past two years Joe has hosted his own southern gospel concerts at Mount Pleasant Baptist Church. He displays not only a love for singing but a love for Jesus Christ. I would unreservedly recommend Joe to any church that has the opportunity to share in his ministry.
Eric Spano Pastor Mount Pleasant Baptist Church ____________________________________________________________________ I've known Joe for many years. When I first met him I was with J. D. Sumner and the Stamps Quartet. We had him up on the platform of the church we were at and he sang with us. I don't know anyone who has given his life for the Lord anymore than Joe. He is a blessing to all of us who know him and those who just meet him. You will be blessed if you go to hear him or have him come to your church and worship with you. God Bless you, Ed Hill Ed Hill is a former member of The Stamps Quartet and The Elvis Presley Show. Ed now travels doing solo concerts and with the Quartet he started The Prophets Quartet.
